Our Mission
Chosen With a Mission exists to promote the progress, successes and needs of the Chosen Junior School and Chosen With a Mission Evangelical Ministries in Matugga, Uganda.
What We've Achieved By God’s Provosion
2012, many joined evangelist and world ambassdor for Christ, Nancy Wilson, in praying for the call that God put on Ugandan James Kintu's heart for the orphans in Matugga, Uganda. James grew up fatherless himself.
2014, the Johnsons mailed some basic art supplies to James, the Chosen students created paintings that were auctioned off in Ballwin, MO, and $600 was raised. This built two new classrooms and bought roofing for existing classrooms.
2015, the Johnsons' new church home in Pleasant View, TN hosted a second art auction that raised $6000! James was able to buy a piece of land on which to build a new school. 1/3 of the students at Chosen are true orphans. Many others are needy and come from single-parent homes.
2016, a team of five from TN traveled to Matugga, Uganda to see, firsthand, the needs of the school and the progress made.
2017, a team of nine from TN traveled back to Matugga for a groundbreaking ceremony on the new land!
2017, Chosen With a Mission non profit was formed.
2018, a guard house and storage shed were built on the mighty Chosen land, and Chosen Junior School alumni spent their school break making bricks for the school building!
2018, a team of 6 from TN traveled to Matugga, Uganda.
2018, Grace and Glory Chapel opened it’s doors to the community. In addition to Sunday church services, they hold weekly bible study, school chapel time, and more!
2020, shortly after their school year began, Chosen Junior School was indefinitely closed due to the Covid 19 virus. Travel plans to Uganda were postponed.
2020, we took to the internet and held an online fundraiser. An overwhelming $23,000 was raised! This allowed for the completion of the ceiling of the first floor of the school, which will also serve as the floor of the next level to be built.
2022, the Chosen Junior School was able to open it’s doors once more to the students and teachers! We supported 13 Chosen alumni who needed a helping hand in affording a high school education.
2023, a team of 4 from TN traveled back to Uganda! Two floors of the Chosen Junior School are complete. Just two more to go.
2024, Bruce and Nancy Johnson attended James’ June wedding in Uganda, welcoming Anna to the family!
May of 2025, Chosen High School officially opened and now our graduates from Chosen Junior School can seemlessly move up to Chosen High School.
March 2026, we praise God for the opening of the Chosen Medical Clinic, serving the community of Matugga, Uganda and the Chosen Junior School and Chosen High School!
